Last Extra Credit for the year

Here is an opportunity for you to maximize your extra credit.  You may do two of the three problems for extra credit.  The work will need to have a post date of no later than April 27 to receive the extra credit.  Be very specific in your explanations of how you solved the problem and what proof you have that you are correct.

Be sure to do your post in Word and copy and paste into the blog.  In addition, don't forget to start the post with your first and last initial and the period you have math.

Extra Credit:  You may select and submit up to two of these problems for extra credit.

Problem:
A. At Filiberto's three burritos and two tacos cost $11.50, and two burritos and three tacos cost $11. How much does one taco cost? (3pts. extra credit)

B. Mrs. Camarano bought red pens for $4 apiece and blue pens for $2.80 apiece. If she purchased a total of 24 pens for $84, how many red pens did she purchase? (4pts. extra credit)

C. Madison Park is in the playoffs and is selling hot dogs and hamburgers during the game to raise money for next year’s team. At halftime, they sold a total of 78 hot dogs and hamburgers and brought in $105.50. How many of each item did they sell if hamburgers sold for $1.50 and hot dogs sold for $1.25? (5pts. extra credit)

Good luck,
Ms. L.

POW Week 7th - Due Friday the 23rd

This is due on Friday the 23rd

Each flight of stairs in Ms Thomas’s apartment building has the same number of stairs and each flight of stairs connects one floor to the next.

Ms Thomas walks up 65 stairs to get from the Ground floor to her apartment.

To get from the Ground floor to the top floor she must  walk up 104 stairs.

If the lowest floor of the building is called the Ground floor and the floor above it is called the second floor (or
floor 2), what is the number assigned to the floor where Ms Thomas lives?
